If any place makes you feel like you don't matter and the bosses belittle you, it is not a place worth being. Leaders have to be REAL leaders to make a difference. I've worked at places that weren't the greatest, so I get ya.
I have a B.S. in Graphic Technology and started making squat when I first had real jobs. It wasn't until I came to my current employer that I make almost $12k more a year for clerical work (and I also do graphics to help). I've contemplated previously about getting a regular retail job to make more money. It is hard to find jobs that pay and it is super crazy that minimal wage jobs can pay more than experienced-level jobs!
