If I Started a WordPress Journal...

I'm not rushing to go to any other platform at this point in time, but I am thinking about what it would be like to have a WordPress blog all the same. I've always seen WordPress blogs as being cool places to showcase things that spark your interest or bring you joy. I suppose I could do the same with a Dreamwidth blog, but this feels more like a journal than anything... though I suppose those WordPress blogs also function in much the same manner... Maybe I'm idealizing WordPress as something bigger than it actually is. Besides, how would anyone even find my blog?

If I could find something cool for my WordPress blog, though, I think I'd want it to function as a blog where I could talk about things going on in a more local sense. I want to be a tourist in my own town and explore different sights while being descriptive about anything that catches the attention of my five senses. Along with that, I might use a WordPress blog to talk about other interests of mine such as crocheting, knitting, and other things like that. Oh, and I could also sprinkle in some psychoeducation into the blog too. I could practice CBT and DBT on myself and explain the process and results of using the skills on a regular basis.

I'm very tempted and have tried several times to make a WordPress blog, but nothing ever stuck, which is a bit of a shame... Still, I think I might want to try again at some point. I know of a cute theme I could apply to my blog to make it feel cozy, and my local library has one of those potentially outdated books on how to make a WordPress blog and customize it to your liking. So many things to talk about... I just need to round up my own thoughts before I attempt to give this a shot.

Absolutely. And that wouldn't mean that I'd be leaving Dreamwidth for WordPress, no way! I have too many friend on here to just leave, plus this place feels more comfortable to use as a journal than a WordPress blog probably would feel. So don't worry, I'm not leaving. :)
